Development Vice President

Keith was born and raised in central Missouri to a family that often enjoyed music and dancing at family events. His grandfather played polkas on the accordion, joined by his uncle playing guitar, and most everyone singing and dancing. His parents were often referred to as the couple who “dance without ever touching the floor”.  Music has been an integral part of Keith’s entire life, with band and chorus in high school, church choirs, and as a soloist for weddings and funerals. Friends of Keith’s children often asked them how their father seemed to know the words to every song on the “Country Music Station” radio.

After 27 years with the Missouri National Guard, Keith relocated to the DC Metro Area leaving his family and friends that he had acquired over his 49 years in Missouri. He accepted a position as Strategic Planner, Special Projects and Webmaster at the Army National Guard Directorate.  In June 2015, Keith was invited to the summer concert of the Alexandria Singers, and was immediately interested in joining the Singer’s Family. Auditioning and becoming an Alexandria Singer is a major milestone in his life. Fellow singers and staff quickly became his very close friends to the extent that he considers the Alexandria Singers to be his new family in Virginia.

Keith brings with him many years of leadership and problem solving from his career in supervising up to 26 employees and managing a $2 to $5 mil environmental compliance budget, but also serving as the president of a parochial school board, and being the family elected spokesperson and negotiator for both happy and sad family occasions and issues.  Keith has a professional reputation for highly successful problem solving, negotiating, and justifying needs, and receiving ample budgets from federal leadership and the state legislature during major funding deficits in the Department of Defense and the State of Missouri. He also initiated multiple cost saving initiatives in his career as well as with the school board.

Keith endeavors to utilize his skill sets and talents to further support the Singers Family and the community at large by building relationships with businesses and individuals. Within these relationships, Keith will advocate the numerous positive social aspects of the performing arts and seek financial or other support to improve the ability of the Singers to bring the gift of music to the citizens of Alexandria and beyond
