Linda Hemphill has been associated with The Alexandria Singers since the group began, and has served as President, Performance Vice-president, Alto Music Captain, and Assistant Music Director, before being hired as Accompanist several years ago. She retired at the end of 2009 after over 31 years as Director of Publications for the International and American Associations for Dental Research, after which she founded Hemphill Editing, LLC, and began working as a freelance editor for SAGE Publications and ScienceDocs.com. For nearly 15 years, she has served as Director of Music/Organist at Bethany Lutheran Church in Alexandria, where she directs two handbell choirs and two singing choirs. Along with her daughter Lindsay, a professional flutist, she performs for wedding receptions, holiday gatherings, and other festive occasions. Linda is a member of the American Guild of Organists, the Association of Lutheran Church Musicians, Handbell Musicians of America, Choristers Guild, the National Notary Association, and the Editorial Freelancers Association.
