First Vice President

Danielle grew up near Pittsburgh, PA and moved to the D.C. area in 2009. She has always had a love for music, and has played piano and sung in choirs since elementary school. In high school she was active in concert choir, show choir, drama club, and county chorus. In college, Danielle continued to sing as a member of her university's concert choir and served as its president her senior year. Danielle earned both a Bachelor of Arts in Professional Writing and a Masters in Public and International Affairs from the University of Pittsburgh. As a consultant for Booz Allen Hamilton, she has worked in international affairs, defense, and cyber security. She also enjoys running in some of the many 5K and 10K races in the D.C. area, as well as all of the other fun outdoor activities! She found The Alexandria Singers through a simple Google search, wanting to continue her favorite hobby of singing and to meet new people in the area, and became a member of the group in fall 2010. Danielle first served as Assistant Membership VP, helping with membership responsibilities. She then served as Membership & Outreach VP for two years, recruiting and welcoming new members so they felt integrated with the Singers and coordinating social activities for members outside of regular rehearsals. In August 2014 Danielle was voted in as a Co First Vice President and leveraged her writing, editing, and research skills to assist with grant research and also currently serves on a sub-committee to revise the Singers' Bylaws and Notesbook. She would love to continue to serve on the board to support the Singers' mission to bring together people who share the common passion of singing, entertain the community, and enrich the culture of our region.
