Kim Slaybecker is a DC area native. She grew up in Fairfax County, and moved to Alexandria in 2009. She works as a Software Engineer, for a large company. Music has always been a part of her life from a young age. She joined every school choir through high school, and eagerly participated in plays and musicals alike. Kim was a proud member of the FredSingers in college, at the University of Mary Washington.
Kim joined the Alexandria Singers in 2013 because she was spending too much time at home with her cat. She paused briefly, to take a job in Australia, but joined again the very day she came back. She has loved working with such a community-driven organization and is happy to join the board for the first time. She hopes to bring her diverse experience from IT program management to this larger, more diverse community. She also enjoys jogging around this beautiful, picturesque area, and visiting the many landmarks as if it’s the first time. Her parents, sisterm and nieces live in nearby Falls Church, and Lorton, and they haven’t missed a concern yet.
